Overview

PodSafe is developed by PodSafe Ltd (company number 17209828). We built PodSafe with privacy as a core principle: all audio processing happens entirely on your device. No audio, voice data, or transcripts ever leave your iPhone.

Information We Collect

• Email address — only if you sign up for our beta waitlist. Used solely to contact you about beta access or the app launch.
• Anonymous usage analytics — anonymised in-app events (app launches, feature usage, errors). No personally identifiable information, no audio data.
• Purchase information — if you subscribe, Apple processes payment and provides anonymised transaction data. We never receive your payment card details.
• Installation ID — a random identifier generated on first launch, stored locally, used to count unique installs in aggregate. Not linked to your identity.

What We Do NOT Collect

• Audio recordings or voice data
• Transcripts or speech-to-text output
• Podcast listening history
• Location data
• Your name, age, or any other personal identifiers

On-Device Processing

PodSafe uses Apple’s Speech framework with the .offlineTranscription preset. All profanity detection and audio scrubbing happens locally on your iPhone. Nothing is transmitted to Apple’s servers or any third party.

Third-Party Services

• Apple StoreKit — for in-app purchases. Apple’s privacy policy applies to payment processing.
• RSS feed providers — when you subscribe to a podcast, PodSafe fetches the RSS feed from the podcast’s server. The podcast provider may log your IP address.
• iTunes Search API — used for podcast discovery. Apple’s privacy policy applies.

Your Rights (UK & EU)

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete your data and to withdraw consent at any time. Contact us at [email protected].

Children’s Privacy

PodSafe is designed for use by adults listening with children present. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
